The new Z5 in the south of France has attracted a lot of attention and recognition due to its architecture: The dark-hued, slanted cube contains indoor pitches, spacious changing rooms, a fitness area and a swimming pool with a spectacular view. All of this in the form of a clear, minimal style of architecture and constructed with precision. And what has this got to do with FATH Solar?

Even if you look down on the building from above, it has a smooth and homogenous appearance. This is due to a 1,833 sqm solar roof, which was installed by FATH Solar; or rather the French partner Solarquest. This PV roof not only lends an elegant appearance, but also adds to the football centre’s eco-audit with a capacity of almost 200 kWp. And it forms a major part of the roofing of the enormous complex.

The modules and assembly concept are based on the FATH S2plus System, which can be scaled down to the 3kWp in-roof installation. It does not matter whether the roof is completely "covered" with S2plus modules, a part of the brick is replaced by modules during roof renovation, or whether a customised solution is preferred – the FATH system impresses with modules without a visible frame and with minimal joints, it is highly efficient and can form the water-bearing formation.

Clearly these advantages also won over the constructors of Z5. FATH is somewhat proud of the fact that it had the opportunity to have a major input into this project.
